“Our photos made it to the AAUW CA page”
Hello – I know several of you have received many street scene photos from the LA March. I’m sharing the only (2) with our AAUW banner, plus my LACIC message if you’d like some content for your websites. Feel free to share with newsletter editors, since I’m not sure of all your deadlines.
I am so pleased to report on our LACIC branch members’ ACTION as part of the 750,000 people participating in the LA Women’s March on Saturday, January 21, 2017! IT WAS HISTORIC & FANTASTIC!
Branch members from Palos Verdes Peninsula, Beach Cities, Torrance, Long Beach, San Fernando and San Gabriel Valley branches were represented. While many of us were unable to locate one another in the dense body-pack, it was truly an exhilarating experience – with no rain!
In addition, Beach Cities’ Co-President Dayla Sims attended the Washington, D.C. event, and many AAUW South Bay branch members unable to attend the LA March supported the Redondo Beach event. Throughout California, it was so gratifying to see our many AAUW members engaged in their local marches. WHAT A CALL TO ACTION FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS – AND WHAT A RESPONSE!
Donna Mertens, AAUW CA President reports that during the Board’s weekend meeting in the San Diego area, 9 of our board members were able to join their march!
